Justin Leroy Barnhart is the Founder of JLB Strategic.  The public affairs consulting firm improves government access for small businesses by cutting red tape and advocating in favor of smart government.

 

Barnhart draws on his wide range of experience in all levels of government, charitable organizations, and small businesses to create custom solutions for clients seeking community focused results.

 

Early in his career, Justin served numerous elected officials crafting public policy.  The bulk of that time was spent as a Senior Legislative Aide to State Representative Jim Buchy. He has also worked for congressmen, presidential candidates, and numerous other legislators and local government leaders.  Prior to establishing JLB Strategic he was a Village Administrator for four years in Northwest Ohio.

 

A budget hawk, Barnhart successfully slashed everyday expenditures by a third and reallocated those funds for projects that benefited the community’s residents.  As a leader, he gained backing from the community for public works projects that revitalized downtown and the three community parks.

 

During Barnhart’s four years of leadership, the community’s reserves grew 140%. Expecting results and encouraging commonsense solutions, he led a team to complete a major public works project 30% under the engineers estimate.

 

Justin graduated Cum Laude from Bowling Green State University in 2010.  He received a Bachelor of Science in education and minors in both history and political science.  He subsequently earned a Master of Business Administration.

 

When Justin isn’t working to improve government, he volunteers as the President of the Agriculture Education Foundation where he is tasked with overseeing all compliance matters.  He is an avid gardener and enjoys family time with his high school sweetheart Melissa and their three beautiful daughters.
